The "Angel in the Flesh & Salai" - Event in Los Angeles
From 2 to 12 December 2009, the Italian Cultural Institute of Los Angeles will host the Genius of Leonardo da Vinci, exhibiting two drawings by the versatile artist from Florence: Sheet of Theater and the "Angel in the Flesh".The Emeritus Professor Carlo Pedretti, director of the Armand Hammer Center at UCLA, will present his latest bilingual publication, Leonardo da Vinci. The "Angel in the Flesh" & Salai, published by Cartei & Bianchi Publishers.

On this occasion, Professor Pedretti will be honored with the IIC Lifetime Achievement Award.

English and French. The Professor Carlo Pedretti, director of the Center Armand Hammer for Leonardo Studies at the University of Los Angeles has reviewed and analyzed the latest studies of Professor Starnazzi

Presentation by Carlo Pedretti at Rotary Club in Empoli (Fi)
During a conference organized by the Rotary Club of Empoli (Fi) Professor Carlo Pedretti, a professor at UCLA in Los Angeles, invited by the organizers, explained to the public the book "The Angel Flesh & Salai" world premiere (see photo) soon to be released in December 2009. The cross is undoubtedly the sign par excellence of the European Middle Ages. The work presents, for the first time, systematically a group of metal cross (about 40) that has characterized the artistic production of central Tuscany between 1100 and 1200 and involved collectors of all time. The works are united by characters material, technical, morphological, iconographic, stylistic and functional made from a slab copper shaped with the ends of the arms characterized by the words "swallow tail", the area decorated with engravings and accompanied by a bronze statue cast and chiseled depicting Christ crucified. Series of books on Leonardo da Vinci available soon
Cartei and Bianchi Editions is preparing to publish, under the authority of Professor Carlo Pedretti, director of the Armand Hammer Center Studies at the University of Los Angeles (UCLA), a series of 7 books devoted to the multifaceted studies of Leonardo da Vinci: the relationship of the great Florentine Genius between Nature and Painting, the studies on Architecture, Engineering and of the Anatomy, through studies on animals and the Fantastic Fables and the book dedicated to the city of Fiesole, from Leonardo takes the first studies on the Human Fly in 1501 the area of Monte Ceceri. Written by Sara Taglialagamba and with the presentation of Carlo Pedretti, will be published in Italian, English and French and will be available by August 2009.

Exhibition "Leonardo da Vinci and France from 25 June 2009 to 30 January 2010
For the first time, the exhibition Leonardo da Vinci and France, made by Castle of Clos Lucé, tracks and tells the story of the relationship between Leonardo and the kings of France. The exhibition is realized with the contest of the greatest scientific specialists in the history of the Renaissance and the Italian Maestro Carlo Pedretti, Pascal Briost, Romano Nanni.
